THE DOLPHIN Original Portuguese title: Ele o Boto Brazil, 1987. Director: Walter Lima, Jr. A dolphin roaming the shores of a small fishing village in Northern Brazil occasionally takes human form to seduce the local womenfolk at night. Paulo Vicinius' character is Luciano, the offspring of one of these steamy encounters. He is not listed as one of the three main actors on the video box, but Luciano is a central character, and certainly the best-looking one. His wardrobe is not as sexy as in Emerald Forest, but he does appear shirtless and in a bathing suit in some scenes. His skin is not as dark as in Emerald Forest, so they must have put something on him in the earlier movie. The Dolphin is not yet available on DVD. The video pictured here is dated 1991.

THE FIFTH MONKEY Brazil, 1990. Director: Éric Rochat Ben Kingsley plays a man who catches and sells animals in Brazil, then changes his heart when four monkeys befriend him. Paulo only has a very small part very late in the movie. He plays a young man named Mario who dances with Ben Kingsley's girlfriend at a bar. He appears on screen for less than two minutes and doesn't even have any speaking lines. Therefore, this movie, which is not available on DVD, is probably not worth tracking down, even if you're a Paulo Vinicius fan. Monkey fans will get more mileage out of it. |
