- New version of "Tuileries"
Neal Hellman, author of the Richard Fariņa Dulcimer Book, has
recorded the Fariņa classic "Tuileries" for his new CD, Emma's Waltz.
The CD also includes "Farewell to the Creeks," the tune which Fariņa
adapted for his song "Hamish." Available from

44 years after it was recorded, Richard and Eric's London LP (with Blind Boy

- New Compilation!
Vanguard has issued a series of compilations titled Vanguard
Visionaries, for 34 of their legendary performers and groups, including
Richard & Mimi. There is no new material, just a ten-song collection aimed
at newcomers. On sale June 12, 2007.
- Two 1970 LPs with Fariņa material reissued:
Iowa by the Sea, by Turnquist Remedy, has a version of "Reno, Nevada;"
and Al Stewart's Zero She Flies features Mimi Fariņa on the bonus track
"Lyke Wake Dirge."

Festival released on DVD!!!
Murray Lerner's classic documentary of the Newport Folk Festival is finally
available on DVD!! Only two minutes of Fariņa footage, but it's a great film
that all folk fans will enjoy.

Dave Van Ronk's memoirs, edited and completed by Elijah Wald. There is no
mention of Richard, and only one passing reference to Mimi, but this book is
so tremendously entertaining and informative that I recommend it to anyone
interested in the Folk Revival, even if you've never owned a Dave Van Ronk album.

The Vanguard Folk Rock Album, released on Ace Records in the U.K.,

Richard & Mimi episode, but it's
